Feline Muses

No writer writes in a vacuum. There are always interruptions, and many of mine are caused by family members, including those with copious amounts of fur. Despite their tendencies to walk all over the desk and the keyboard, scream at the feral cats hanging around outside the house, and deposit hairballs on my carpet, they are the most fun, funny and amazing--not to mention loving and forgiving--creatures in my life. After all, who else around here would rub his head fondly against mine just five minutes after I'd stepped on his tail? Here they are, the three bosses of my house:
Top left, Morticia, 20 years old; top right, Zoe, 7 years old; and bottom, Jumoke (Mokie), 12 years old. Morticia is the grand dame, a diva for sure, but also very affectionate and always interested in anything that's going on. Zoe is the hellion, truly possessed at times to the point of literally bouncing off the walls, but also hilarious and endearing. Mokie is our nurse cat, always trying to take care of everyone, and so very sweet.
